Your news summary for Friday--January 23rd: It really was an earthquake last Friday in Jourdanton. Only a 2.8, but definitely measurable. Junior livestock shows continue with Wilson and McMullen counties going into the weekend, and Congressman Henry Cuellar has some more committee appointments. And, nationwide Texas ranks number 11 in reports of STDs. This is a behavior-driven set of diseases--very preventable, but it sounds like we could be doing a better job of prevention. Most of us have probably never heard of chlamydia, but it had the largest number of reported cases--and it can be deadly, by the way. Alaska ranked number one in this category. Weather today?
