Your report for Tonights meeting: the Council approved many of the items that had been worked through the committees last week including the sale of property to Penobscot Theater and a well thought out policy on sidewalk licenses for outdoor dining downtown. We also learned that the cumulative loss fr the state to be city of just revenue sharing just to the City of Bangor is $8million.Just that one item.Next time you read the state budget was balanced you can thank the cities of Bangor and Portland and probably a dozen smaller service center communities for shouldering all those cuts. One more thing state aid to education which went up 70% during the Baldacci Administration has gone up less than 1% most recently putting significant upward pressure on property taxes all across Maine. And its middle class homeowners who pay property taxes. :)
