Your resistance/weight training sessions should be focused on lifting heavy and making continued progression NOT trying to see how many calories you can burn. If you want to build a strong, lean body then do whatever is necessary to make progress. If you are going balls to the wall each session but doing exactly the same weights and exactly the same reps then you will look EXACTLY the same. You dont necessarily have to be crawling out the gym in a pool of sweat every workout. Take the rest time necessary between sets and exercises to allow you to lift more each session. Nutrition/Daily Activity/Cardio = Burning calories Resistance Training = Building muscle
