Youre a Doctor - you have a practice of 15+ staff including GPs, Allied Health and Cosmetic Surgery Clinic. You have asked for ongoing done-for-you social media and are happy with our offerings and monthly fees. More than reasonable you said. You then ask for training for 2 x team members but you want me to do this for free. Which you feel is more than reasonable as you are going to be working with me for 6 months. Me: I hear what youre saying and it sounds like you are more than happy with our program and its pricing but you are now asking me to train your staff for free - is that right? You: Yes, that is correct, as this is going to be an ongoing relationship for at least 6 mmonths I feel that is more than reasonable. Me: Thank you for clarifying that for me Dr. BLAH BLAH BLAH.... Can I ask Dr... you have repeat business from your patients dont you? You have an ongoing relationship with those patients dont you? You: Yes. That is correct. Me: Great. Do those patients pay for every consultation and treatment you provide to them. You: Yes. That is correct. Me: And, you place a lot of value in the services you provide to your patients Dr is that correct. You: Yes. That is correct. Me: And you place a lot of value in the services I will be providing you is that correct? You: Yes I do. Me: So, I see Dr how it makes sense for you to charge those patients you get repeat business from and have ongoing relationships with for each and every treatment/service.... understanding of course that you provide them great value... And, I see that you appreciate that while working with us you will also be provided with massive value - a fair exchange for services rendered... is that right? You: Yes. Me: Now Dr, Im a llittle confused then as to how you feel it is more than reasonable for you as a Dr, as a business owner, to charge for your services and to make money from your patients.... and I understand that. But, what I am confused about then is why you dont see it reasonable and that you dont feel that it is justifyable for us to be rewarded in kind when we are providing training of your staff members? The line goes quiet.... You: Well, when you put it that way...ok, lets get this happening. Heres my credit card number... Thanks so much for understanding Dr, and for your payment - your receipt is on its way! When you allow others to negotiate you down on your prices, you are effectively giving your clients the right to tell you how much money you are allowed to make. Thus, they are deciding on your income. Do you offer discounts and/or let your clients negotiate your fees and rates?
