Nearly 500 troops from Fort Bliss are being sent to Liberia to help combat the spread of Ebola, according to Congressman Beto ORourke. Our thoughts, prayers and gratitude follow the 490 service members from Fort Bliss who will soon deploy to Liberia to help combat the spread of Ebola, ORourke said in the statement. They will join a combined force of approximately 3,000 U.S. service members to conduct rotary wing aviation missions in support of Ebola treatment center construction and surveying activities. This is an important humanitarian mission, one that will save lives in Africa - and by stopping the spread of this deadly virus before it leaves that continent, it will potentially save lives in this country as well. Its another reason were grateful for and proud of our Fort Bliss service members.
