Youre probably getting tired of me talking about pit bulls. Sorry, but Im not sorry, this story needs to be told. As you know, Chela and I love dogs. Weve been fortunate enough to have shared our home and lives with Corsa, and Godiva (RIP) and now Atticus, Emma, and Scout. We love big dogs, working dogs, sporting dogs, all dogs really. Corsa and Godiva were Labrador Retrievers, and Atticus is a St. Bernard. All were and are loving in their own special way, and I miss Corsa and Godiva every day. Atticus is a prince of a dog, gentle, loyal, sweet, and so bonded, but nothing, and I mean nothing compares to the interaction, affection, intelligence and sheer willingness to please as Scout, our little pit bull. Its not enough that these dogs are discriminated against, that they people say well its how theyre raised. These dogs, they deserve much better. They may be the most unjustly treated of all dogs, because at their heart, their basic desire is to please, and to love. Little Scout has been exposed to so many people and dogs in her short time on this planet. She has had a variety of canine visitors to her territory and not exhibited one second of aggression toward them, not one single moment of anything but joy, love, and the desire to play. Ironic that the dogs most associated with violence and intolerance may be the exact opposite. Yes, there are other breeds, and theyre all fantastic. I dont believe there is a more loving breed than this one. #dontbullymybreed
