Youth Café Project Manager AMANDLA EduFootball - Cape Town, Western Cape AMANDLA EduFootball seeks to appoint a full time Project Manager to manage the set-up of a Youth Café that will be hosted at its Safe – Hub based in Gugulethu. The scope of the position includes management of the following project functions: partnerships and stakeholders, programme development, finance, human resources, facility set-up, and project administration. The successful candidate will report directly to the AMANDLA’S Programme Director and Operations Director. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Stakeholder Management Manage a stakeholder identification process – including young people, youth organizations, schools, parents, programme delivery partners, and funders Develop, organise and implement local awareness campaigns/events Manage the quality of all external communication content (content and style in alignment to CI) Research and evaluate local opportunities for fundraising and support in developing a local income generation strategy model Maintain, build and strengthen existing and new relationships with local stakeholders, incl. media 2. Programme Development Manage an inclusive Youth Café environment conceptualization process Manage an inclusive Youth Café programme design process Manage an inclusive Youth Café monitoring and evaluation system design process 3. Finance Compile a project budget Compile a 3 – 5 year operational budget Manage project financial processes including spending, invoicing, claiming and reporting 4. Human Resources Design a human resource strategy aligned with project goals and budget Manage the recruitment and induction of a project team Manage and mentor project team 5. Facility/Asset Management/Office Administration Manage the interior set-up of the Youth Café Ensure facility meets required health and safety standards Oversee maintenance requirements at facility VACANCY Project Manager 6. General Compile and approve accurate monthly, quarterly and annual overall operational reports Ensure general compliance with the facility’s operations manual Communicate and role model organisation’s values Ensure necessary policies and procedures are in adhered to CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES: 1. Technical: a. A recognized Bachelors Degree in relevant Humanities, Commerce, Public Policy discipline or any other appropriate field (required) b. 5 years project management experience (required) c. 5 years general management experience (required) d. Excellent administrative skills (required) e. Strong facilitation skills (required) f. Strong computer skills (required) g. Strong report writing skills (required) h. Experience in managing youth recreational facilities or similar and related health and safety regulations (preferred) h. Fluency in English is essential and proficiency in Xhosa and/or Afrikaans will be a strong advantage i. Good understanding of the sector-related policies, legislations and guidelines (preferred) j. Sound knowledge and understanding of the ‘youth development’ sector (preferred) k. Be in possession of Code B driver’s license (required) l. Own vehicle (required) 2. Personal: a. Strong communication skills b. Excellent networker, ability to comfortably interact at all levels and across sectors c. Self-motivated – ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks d. Responsible, safety orientated, innovative, accountable and commitment to achieve e. Keen interest in sport and physical activity f. Strong commitment to making a difference in young people’s lives g. Strong organisational, planning and decision making skills h. Excellent administrative skills i.
