About Position: The Development Manager will lead our development efforts in expanding and implementing fundraising strategies to diversify our funding stream. This position is responsible for fundraising approximately 1.2 million dollars for the 2014 budget and developing a strategic fundraising plan that complements the organizations strategic five year growth plan. This position will focus on writing grants and identifying and cultivating new funding sources and individual donors. Primary responsibilities include executing a development plan, researching grant programs, writing proposals and marketing the organization to donors, foundations, and business partners. The Development Manager will manage a development intern and will report and work closely with the Executive Director. Your Role: · Write high-quality comprehensive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, progress reports, and other correspondence to prospective and renewing foundations, and corporations · Research and identify funding opportunities and program areas to match organizational priorities · Oversee monthly programs reports and ensure compliance of all funder expectations · Maintain and expand our base of individual donors, working to raise their giving levels annually · Manage and supervise all internal fundraising efforts and campaigns · Coordinate production, mailing and follow-up of annual appeal · Maintain timely donor acknowledgement system for individual, workplace, event gifts and pledges · Assist with communications and marketing efforts coordinated with fundraising events · Lead the YSC Advisory Council through quarterly meetings and annual friendraisers · Other duties as assigned by the YSC Executive Director Your Qualifications: · At least three years of fundraising experience in the nonprofit field · Demonstrated ability to manage your time, as well as plan and prioritize your work · Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant programs · Organized, punctual and able to meet deadlines · Demonstrated successful record of fundraising from foundations, corporations and government funders · Outstanding written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills, able to build relationships with others · Must be comfortable working in a team environment, leading new projects and managing volunteer leaders · Energetic and able to be proactive in developing sustainable funding relationships · Self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced environment and an entrepreneurial spirit and drive Unquestioned commitment to YSC’s mission and values If you fit the description, we want to talk to you!
