According to a statement by the association through its Chairman, Mannir Haidara Kaura, the debate is expected to engage all the Zamfara gubernatorial candidates, Senators, members House of Representatives from the state early January in Gusau, the state capital. “The aim of organising such a debate which is politically the first of its kind in the state, was to facilitate realisation of good leaders for the people of the state, the amount of commitments towards rapid development of the state, socially and economically”, the statement added. Haidara, who is to preside over the planning committee declared that consultations over the success of the programme is ongoing as the leaders of the political parties and their candidates in the state were willing to take part, adding that the planned debate would create avenue upon which the people of the state would assess the quality of leaders they would vote for.
