Youth should get 30% of all government appointments from the national government to the county governments as affirmative action to bridge the glaring disparities . Together with other youthful leaders we plan to ensure that this forms one of the questions in the upcoming referendum alongside other weighty matters such as devolution, inclusivity and equity, natural resources, land etc. In the Kibra rally last Sunday I got a chance of making that appeal to our coalition leaders. Youths aged between 18 years - 35 years need affirmative action. Women fought for the same and today they are represented in all levels of government. Vijana msilale bado mapambano. I request all youth leaders irrespective of political party affiliation to come out and support this agenda that will surely transform Kenya . Youths form the bulk of our nation, they are the building blocks of the country we cannot avoid making pro-active decisions that will empower them. The constitution has already provided for 30 % of all govt procurement though to date only 6% of that 30% has been procured by youth for various reasons. This referendum provides an opportunity for all youths in Kenya to unite with a common purpose. The people were enthusiastic about it and I hope our leaders will pick it up and give it the political goodwill it deserves.
