Youve probably already experienced a painful reality: the moment you cease resting in Christs righteousness, you begin working to establish your own. Christians who don’t feel righteous feel anxious. They feel a need to prove something. And they’re brittle. They’re always justifying themselves, and arguing with the air why the other person is wrong, even if that person is a million miles away. Or dead. So they feel tired. Christianity wears them out. Life wears them out. Do you know how you know when justification has taken root in your mind and heart and soul? When you rest in the finished work of Christ. When you live with nothing left to prove. When you let bullets of accusation bounce off your superhero chest. When you accept God’s acceptance of you.
