You’ll become a bitter and frustrated old man if you think that you have the capacity to control everything and everybody. People seem to go through a lot of unnecessary angst because ultimately they are attempting to manipulate the world around them. The universe is forever out of control. It is forever changing and it can’t be boxed into anyone’s definition of it. Just when you think that you have put a problem away, another little monster will pop its ugly head up from the box. It’s the way of things, the true way of the world. Now, I’m not saying that you don’t try and fix the problem. All I’m saying is not to be disillusioned into thinking that problems are finally ‘fixed’ and that now life can go on smoothly. It will not. Attempting to orchestrate events is a useless exercise. AUTHORS’ NOTE—everyday I come across bitter, opinionated people who are mad at the world because it will not behave itself according to their political viewpoint. Relax people. There is pretty much nothing you can do about it but live your own life as a good person.
