However, Kawowo sports has learnt that Ochayas move will take more time than the expected because the Ghanaian FA is yet to process his International transfer certificate. Ochaya who left KCCA FC in2012, parted ways with Ghanaian side last year citing breach of contract and KCCA F.C have utilized his stay in the country, keeping hot on their heels, chasing for his signature. The left footed player was hoped to be a possible replacement to Brian Majjwega. Last week in an interview with Kawowo sports the winger expressed his desire for management to speed up his move before the start of the new season. Kampala City Council Football Club Secretary, David Tamale has confirmed that the move has been dented by paper work. ------We are pushing hard for Joseph’s move but again we have to wait until the issue of ICT is sorted out. Last week FIFA issued an ultimatum to the Ghanaian FA to give Ochaya his ICT by January 20 as the player himself confirmed to Kawowo sports. They (Ghanaian F.A) are supposed to clear my ICT by 20th of January. Ochaya joins Simon Mbaziira whose transfer completion from Portuguese club has been in the same quagmire. ----------AFRICA------Algeria escaped a catastrophic start to their Africa Cup of Nations campaign, says coach Christian Gourcuff after Mondays win over South Africa. Despite being one of the tournament favourites, they trailed after Thuso Phalas 51st minute goal. Bournemouths Tokelo Rantie then missed a penalty for Bafana Bafana before Algeria scored three goals in the final 23 minutes. The penalty was a turning point, said Gourcuff. He added: At 2-0 the game was not over but we would have been in a difficult situation. Having impressed on their way to reaching the knockout stages in the World Cup in Brazil last summer, Algeria are tipped by many to go all the way in Equatorial Guinea. But, after a disappointing first hour, it took Ranties missed penalty and an own goal from Thulani Hlatshwayo to give them hope of the expected victory. Goals from Faouzi Ghoulam and Islam Slimani then secured the win for the North Africans, who face Ghana next on Friday. It was an intense game and it could have been catastrophic, said Gourcuff, who replaced Vahid Halilhodzic after the World Cup finals last year. But things turn quickly in football and we played well to come back and win. It was a real test for the players on a pitch which does not allow you to keep the ball. • -------Ivory CoastvGuinea16:00 • MalivCameroon19:00 ----MON 19 JAN 2015 - AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS • Ghana1 - 2SenegalFT • Algeria3 - 1South AfricaFT SUN 18 JAN 2015 - AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS • Zambia1 - 1Congo DRFT • Tunisia1 - 1Cape Verde IslandsFT SAT 17 JAN 2015 - AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS • Equatorial Guinea1 - 1CongoFT • Burkina Faso0 - 2Gabon -------ENDOWOZA YO----- Wojciech Szczesny should look for a loan move away from Arsenal, claims Polish goalkeeping legend Jan Tomaszewski • Wojciech Szczesny was dropped after Arsenals loss to Southampton • David Ospina has come in and kept three clean sheets in a row • Polish goalkeeping legend Jan Tomaszewski thinks Szczesny will not play another game for the Gunners this season He thinks the Arsenal man should look for a loan move away from the club. Szczesnys last game for the Gunners came against Southampton on New Years Day, but he was dropped after Sportsmail revealed that he had been fined after being caught smoking in the showers after the match. David Ospina was brought into the team, and after three clean sheets in a row, he does not look like giving up his starting berth without a fight. • Should Szczesny leave or stay in Arsenal to compete?---- Tomaszewski, who is nicknamed The Man That Stopped England after his impressive performance for Poland in a World Cup qualifier against the Three Lions in 1973, was in favour of Szczesny leaving Arsenal before the loan window closes. It seems to me that Adam Nawalka (Polands national team coach) should go to London to find [him] a way out of the situation, because from what I know, Wojciech will not play again until the end of the competition, Tomaszewski told Sportowefakty. Wojciech should look for a loan. He wont lose anything, he will continue to be bound by a contract with Arsenal, but will be able to count on regular gametime. Since Szczesnys omission from the Arsenal starting line-up, Arsene Wengers side have won three games in a row; 2-0 against Hull City in the FA Cup, 3-0 against Stoke City in the Premier League, and a huge win against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. -GOLF------ Tiger Woods lost a front tooth after being hit in the face by a video camera while watching girlfriend Lindsey Vonn take a record 63rd World Cup Alpine ski win in Italy on Monday, according to his agent. The former world number one surprised Vonn when he turned up in the resort of Cortina dAmpezzo for the Super-G race but caused more of a stir when photographs showed a gap where his tooth had been. During a crush of photographers at the awards podium at the World Cup event in Italy, a media member with a shoulder-mounted video camera pushed and surged towards the stage, turned and hit Tiger Woods in the mouth, the golfers agent told USA Today. Woodss tooth was knocked out by the incident, added Mark Steinberg. Woods, who was limited to nine tournaments last year due to back issues, said earlier this month that he will make his season debut at the Jan.29-Feb. 1 Waste Management Phoenix Open. ----- Lindsey Vonn became the most successful female in Alpine skiing World Cup history when she won a Super-G on Monday, her 63rd victory in the competition. American Vonn was tied with Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proell (1970-80) on 62 wins after her triumph in Sundays downhill at the same Italian course. Two years ago, Kokkinakis lost to good friend Nick Kyrgios in the junior final, and the rude health of Aussie tennis was highlighted when 19-year-old Kyrgios overcame some back issues to beat Federico Delbonis in the Margaret Court Arena night match. That made it six Australian men into round two - and just six wins from ending the locals 39-year wait for a mens champion. Bernard Tomic, 22, was among the early winners - beating Germanys Tobias Kamke - and when the vocal home supporters known as Fanatics began chanting that he was Australias number one, he responded Number two! in deference to Kyrgios. The Cyprus Football Association described Mondays attack at referee Thomas Mouskoss mothers home in Limassol as exceedingly cowardly. Mouskoss own home was under police protection following threats over his performance during the Cypriot first division match between Apollon and Othellos on 12 January. The 60-year-old woman was unharmed. Mouskos gave a penalty and sent a player off in the opening 22 minutes of the game , which finished 2-2. It is the fourth incident in the last 12 months involving referees being targeted with explosives in the country. Last May a grenade was thrown at Mouskoss house but did not explode. This latest attack follows allegations of match-fixing in the countrys domestic competitions. The Cyprus Referees Association chief Michalis Argyrou said its members will meet next Monday, following discussions with police, to decide whether to extend the boycott. Police said the makeshift explosive device went off outside the front door of the house shortly after midnight and the referees mother was not hurt because she was in an upstairs bedroom. -- Jamie Caragher has slammed Arsenals stars for their over-the-top celebrations following Sundays win at Manchester City. Aaron Ramsey posted a picture to his Instagram account of himself and Gunners team-mates Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Olivier Giroud and Per Mertesacker in good spirits in the changing room after the game. The Welshman was not the only player to take to social media following the 2-0 victory at the Etihad, with Alexis Sanchez posing for a selfie with some of his pals on the journey home. --- However, the move has clearly irked former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher, who believes Arsenals celebrations should be put on hold - until they win some silverware. Carragher ironically posted his own selfie with fellow Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville after the show, but told Monday Night Football: Its winding me up - its an absolute joke. It was one giant going to another giant. Of course celebrate, but it’s nonsense all of these team pics in dressing rooms - normally you have them with a cup! It’s nonsense and they need to stop doing it. - Carragher did however pile praise on the Gunners for their disciplined display at the Etihad as goals from Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud earned the points. He added: I was shocked Arsene Wenger went with those tactics. Besides Man City, it feels like the whole country is pleased Arsenal won that game in that manner.------------ Brendan Rodgers admits that he can no longer be close friends with Jose Mourinho due to Liverpools fierce rivalry with Chelsea • Liverpool host Chelsea in Capital One Cup semi-final on Tuesday night • Brendan Rodgers and Jose Mourinho used to be close friends • But Rodgers admitted he is too engrossed in his work now to be friends • Reds boss says clubs fierce rivalry prevents the pair being close friends • John Terry wants Chelsea to make history by winning the quadruple Mourinho helped Rodgers on his career path by giving him a job at Chelsea in 2004, and then advised him to take the role at Anfield when he was approached by Fenway Sports Group in 2012. But the Liverpool manager admits that while he has ‘total respect’ for Mourinho, they no longer talk as frequently as they once did. He said: ‘I have a huge respect for him. He is a wonderful man and coach. But you are so engrossed in your own work, you don’t communicate as much, you don’t have the conversations you had before and, ultimately, you could be a rival. The opportunity to work with him in that period of three and a bit years was invaluable to me. ‘Hopefully, in some ways, I helped him as well because we had a lot of communication.’ ---Liverpool are the hosts as Chelsea visit Anfield for the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final tie on Tuesday. The Premier League leaders travel to Merseyside buoyed by Saturdays 5-0 obliteration of Swansea and will be confident of securing a positive result to take back to London for the second leg next week. ----Chelsea, who sit five points clear at the top of the table following Manchester City’s defeat to Arsenal, edged the last meeting between the teams as Gary Cahill and Diego Costa cancelled out Emre Cans deflected opener in the league in November. But Liverpool are unbeaten in eight games since their defeat at Manchester United in December and will be looking to make home advantage count as they attempt to land a first major honour under manager Brendan Rodgers. Mourinho: Calls to respect for Gerrard Team news Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from and could rotate his squad. Thibaut Courtois could return in goal having sat out the last three games with a minor finger injury while Kurt Zouma, Loic Remy and Andre Schurrle will be hoping for rare starts. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is set to return after resting a tight hamstring at the weekend but striker Mario Balotelli, who also missed the win at Aston Villa with a chest infection, remains a doubtful participant. Forward Fabio Borini could be the one to make way to accommodate Gerrard despite scoring at Villa Park, Betting Chelsea are Sky Bet’s 11/10 favourites to gain the first-leg advantage with Liverpool 12/5. The Reds are 9/4 outsiders to reach the Capital One Cup final and 4/1 to lift the trophy, with Jose Mourinho’s men at 5/6 in the outright market.
