Yup, I would have to agree with the study results because I do have poor health and my overall quality just very poor: Our results showed that a vegetarian diet is associated with poorer health (higher incidences of cancer, allergies, and mental health disorders), a higher need for health care, and poorer quality of life. Overall, our findings reveal that vegetarians report poorer health, follow medical treatment more frequently, have worse preventive health care practices, and have a lower quality of life. My plant-based diet doesnt allow me to deadlift 450lbs (attempting 500 next month at comp!), run 50-mile events (with a weekly training mileage of 30-50), do 20-strict pull-ups (no kipping for this kid) in a row, and lift 2x24kg kettlebells in the long cycle for 70 reps all in the same time frame while weighing 180lbs. I dont know too many people - vegan, vegetarian or paleo - who can do that because most athletes need to train for one at a time. But let me not give credit to my diet for contributing to my athletic accomplishments because as everyone is pointing out from the quote research article, my plant-based diet contributes to my poor quality in health and life. For those who dont know, my girlfriend Jennifer also eats a plant-based diet, but we will not contribute that to her holding 2-world records in kettlebell sport and being one of the strongest long cycle lifters in the world. Sure her diet has NOTHING to do with her performance...it only leads her to have a poor quality of life like me. And let us not discuss our poor love life...our plant-based diets make us so unhappy that we cant even be around each other. I cant imagine spending 24/7 with her...just like she cant tolerate being around me for too long! Our diet is so ruining everything about us! ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3917888/
