Yup, Im going in because you dont do people wrong and take them for stupid: Travis Academy, from Elementary to High School is horrible. I was supposed to be a substitute teacher, but the next thing I knew, I was being assigned duties as if I was a teacher (create curriculums and lesson plans, attend teachers meetings, etc.). Then I was assigned classes and listed in Jupiter as an actual teacher. I would say about 95% of the staff there are not certified for their position. The only people certified are the people listed on the schools website. One of the administrators had his school shut down a few years back; rumor has it it was in the basement of a restaurant. I find it odd that he, along with the teachers are not able to put their name on any official documents. Im eager to know why he has to keep such a low profile. The books they teach out of are old; I have only seen one textbook from 2010 or later. In addition, theres not even enough books to serve the student population. I have seen a teacher (relative of the owner) tackle and push a kid for disrupting his class. The students transcripts are all wrong. I cant count how many times Ive heard students say, I took this class already!. The list goes on...It is a horrible school.
