Yup, call me a sell out. Iʻm tired of development on the NS being a BIG win for the surf industry wale nō. Iʻm tired of if being a win for new money (I got my surf mansion everyone else can get lost). I would very much like development on the NS to be a win for the envrionment, in reality I wish Turtle Bay had never been built. I cant make TBR go away, I cant make the NS what it was as I knew it in my youth. I donʻt particularly like what the NS is now, I see little of what I know Hawai to be there. Yes I am tired of hearing people who I see as having changed the NS into thier image complain about change. And Iʻve got no problems telling those people to go home. Some may see my positon as selling out, Iʻve fought from the outside Iʻm currently trying to fight from the inside - trying to insert a place for my people and my culutre vs. just seeing Hawaiian culture being used to sell a product and given lip service. I speak for my kūpuna and my moopuna. If that is selling out well I guess I am. I saw a lot of disrepect today, it has shaken my belief that freinds can remain friends and still dissagree.
