ZAAA PRESS STATEMENT Thursday, December 25, 2014 The Zambia Amateur Athletic Association (ZAAA) acknowledges being served with an injunction which restrains the ZAAA General Secretary from disqualifying, barring, blocking or stopping Samuel Matete, Christopher Manda, Jonathan Chipalo, Judith Chaongopa and Carol Mokola; who are the plaintiffs from contesting at any position at the forth coming ZAAA Elective Annual General Meeting (AGM). The order of Injunction also gives guidance as to the delegates to the A.G.M as follows “that the delegates shall come from the Clubs and Area Boards allocated ZAAA numbers by the General Secretary on 31st December 2002 including Young Carol Mokola Club in accordance with the said Clubs and Area Boards’ list of 2014 membership” In view of this development, we are trying to communicate with some of the delegates as per 2002 Clubs and Area Boards allocated numbers by the then ZAAA General Secretary. The ZAAA Executive is also trying to ascertain and establish the actual delegates to the AGM as ordered by the Court and we have sought legal guidance from our Attorneys on the comprehensive interpretation as to who the delegates should be. In view of the above, the ZAAA Executive Committee has consulted the National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) and have decided to reschedule the AGM slated for December 27, 2014 to a date to be communicated soon so that, delegates as per 2002 Clubs and Area Boards, can be located and invited to the Elective AGM as directed by the order of injunction. In view of the Christmas holiday and the fact that Friday, December 26, 2014 has been declared a public holiday, it will not be possible to locate and communicate to the delegates of 2002 Clubs and Area Boards before December 27, 2014.
