ZAMBIA LOSE FRIENDLY TO BAFANA BAFANA AS ZNBC PLAYS TRUANT The heavily publicised friendly and preparatory football match between Zambias Chipolopolo and South Africas Bafana Bafana took place at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg South Africa at 15:00 hrs but the key spectator Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) was missing. ZNBC had promised to air the match after informing the nation that it would do so in collaboration with FAZ and South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). The public broadcaster who did not scroll an apology continued with previously scheduled programming and only announced the reason on its 18:00 hrs TV2 news and 19:00 hrs main news on TV1. The match which ended with the Chipolopolo losing by a goal to nil courtesy of an 80th minute goal by Bafana Bafanas Thuso Phala, was not televised due to technical difficulties stemming from what it says was a caliberation problem of its receiver that is antiquated. The national broadcaster however did not reveal when it started trying to calibrate the receiver for SABC or how it has managed to screen other international events prior to this.
