ZANU PF URGED TO SPARE LOWER STRUCTURES The ZANU PF Politburo - TopicsExpress

ZANU PF URGED TO SPARE LOWER STRUCTURES The ZANU PF Politburo is being urged to leave its lower structures intact and not restructure them as being suggested by the newly appointed political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere. This call comes at a time when ousted Vice President Joice Mujuru is restrategising with the aim of gaining support from the lower structures by ensuring that her loyalists land powerful positions. The Mujuru cabal is said to have noticed that the fact that they did not control the lower cell to district structures led to the dismissal of Provincial chairpersons loyal to the former Vice President a few weeks before Congress. They have now been presented with an opportunity to correct their mistake by the current calls for districts, branch and lower structures to be revamped by March 2015. This move has come as a surprise to the lower structures leadership who feel that they are being targeted for unwaveringly supporting Cde Robert Mugabe while frowning to calls by the Mujuru group to mount a challenge against the President at Congress. Honestly, why would the new politburo ask for a revamp of structures which are operating well and which should be congratulated for blocking the evil plans by Cdes Mutasa, Joice Mujuru, Ray Kaukonde, Mr Rugare Gumbo and others who had resolved to overthrow President Mugabe through unorthodox means among them an assassination? It leaves us with suspicion that the Mujuru cabal could be working closely with some party bigwigs who made it into the politburo to fight from within. The faction is reported to have come up with at least four strategies to force the nullification of the December 2014 congress, among them litigation at the courts, fighting from within, vote buying during the proposed lower structure elections and engaging President Mugabe. There are also fears that remnants of the Mujuru club are still visible in the Intelligence service and other security structures and false inteligence reports could be at play in efforts whose bigger picture is to overthrow the President and undo the resolutions of Congress. After the confusion that engulfed the party soon after congress as interim provincial structures were put in place and removed more rapidly, there was need for the commissariat to take precaution and consult with the lower structures which remained resolute in supporting the President all along. However a dictatorial approach that the commissariat is pursuing which has now asked all lower structure to be disbanded has exposed party loyalists to the Mujuru cabal which is strong in cash resources to win any election at the moment. They exemplified their vote buying machinery very well during the 2013 provincial elections and even during the youth conference last year. (Energy Mutodi is a member of ZANU PF.
