ZANews!!! Neva take them serious I dont believe this #Ngojoh Amazulu to start each game with one extra player on the field to avoid relegation PARKTOWN – Kaizer Chiefs, who haven’t lost a game yet in the 2014/15 season of the Absa Premiership, were told on Monday by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) that they would start every game with a deficit of one goal – which would rise to two goals unless they dropped points. A spokesperson for the PSL explained the ruling: “Most of the time the league is a free-for-all. Even the top teams have struggled to win consistently, and there’s normally not a clear league winner until the last couple of games of the season. The PSL is an average league and our teams tend to play average soccer”. “This year Chiefs has come along and squashed the opposition, winning 11 games out of 14. They are so far ahead that many fans are losing interest. Nobody wants to fight for second place. We’ve literally levelled the playing field for the rest of the teams. It’s fine to strive for sporting excellence but this mustn’t be at the expense of all the not-so-excellent teams”. Kaizer Chiefs management have reacted with outrage to the bizarre penalty, threatening to take the PSL to arbitration or to the courts. FIFA may become entangled in the whole confusing mess if the PSL and Chiefs cannot reach a settlement by the end of January. The one-goal penalty has provoked irate reactions from soccer fans too. @KhosiLifer tweeted “This rubbish decishn will kill d playaz confidenz. Khoza is punishin us bcoz we chowed Pirates 2-0 in d darby”. This was answered by @BlackNWhitePride with “Oh yeh??? Everyone knows that Chiefs bribes refs, so this is restoring the balance of things”. The PSL dismissed accusations of bias and a conflict of interest for Irvin Khoza, the PSL’s chairman who is also the chairman of Orlando Pirates FC. The PSL pointed out that it was also adjusting the outcomes for other teams with “pro-democracy measures”. “Amazulu is a team that will also be affected by the changes. It will start each game with an extra player on the field so that it has a better chance to pull itself out of the relegation zone”. “Amazulu might still end up relegated but the PSL will sleep well knowing that we gave the team every possible chance”.
