ZERO Cell Service: A Curse or a Blessing? Ill opt for the latter. Im lucky to have internet out here! Greetings from Riggins, Idaho. Im literately within 5 minutes of the Salmon River, the largest free running river in the southern 48 states. The best white water rapids our Nation can conjure, rapids that even the pros offer their utmost respect. 27 miles away is a bridge called the Wind River Bridge, you walk it by foot and once you cross the Salmon, you cross into pure country. No cars, no dirt bikes, no four wheelers, no cell phones (well youre welcome to bring one, but youll never get a chance to use it LOL), no politicians, no government. Just 100% ALL NATURAL life in its cleanest state. Im talking BEACHES along the Salmon River where you can pitch tent and camp for weeks, with unlimited supply of fish and critters. Trees perfectly scattered across the landscape where one could set up his hammock. Just one of the trails one can find after crossing the bridge is a 10 mile trail leading to Florence, an old mining ghost town established in 1861, where youll find whats left of the old town before being greeted by more endless wilderness. Im going to Libby, Montana. But not until I experience the endless bush and come out dead or alive. A couple weeks completely LOST in the woods should establish my internal mental status as a survivor, proud to say I can give the world the bird and disappear at any point in time. Oorah.
