ZYC set to Carry out Massive Clean-up Campaign Zimbabwe Youth Council and the Ministry of Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment in conjunction with stakeholders who are in the Environmental Management sector is set to carry out a Clean-up Campaign aimed at popularising the recently launched National Youth Policy in Harare on Friday the 21st of March. The programme is being held in line with section 2.9 of the National Youth Policy Strategy for youth and the protection of the environment. The strategy speaks to the promotion of youth participation in the protection, preservation and improvement of the environment. Section 2.9.1D of the Youth Policy further stresses that young people should be encouraged to participate in tree planting , forestry, combating of desert creep, waste reduction, recycling , and other sound environmental practices. A March has been scheduled before the campaign and it will start at Town House via Jason Moyo up to Kaguvi Street. More than 200 youth participants from different stakeholders are expected to take part on the day. The Minister of Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Hon Francis Nhema will be the guest of Honour and he is expected to address the participants who will be gathered at Town House at 10:30am. This programme is one of the many events being held around the country to popularise and update stakeholders who are into youth development and empowerment on the provisions as highlighted in the National Youth Policy so as to gather momentum for the execution of the policy.
