Zag is a 6-year old gelding. His mother is Scarlet, who we imported from England in early 2004. He is very similar to his mother in color and markings. His sire was our own Cola, son of our own Ruby. We believe that Colas sire was Shogunner, a well-known Gypsy horse in England. Zag was Scarlet’s first foal and she rejected him. His arrival was unexpected, and I found him nestled, head up, in the tall grass of the pasture. We took him to the veterinary hospital at the University of Georgia to get him a good start, then bottle-fed him and raised him as an orphan foal. As a result, it took him time to figure out he was a horse. He has a cute and somewhat impish personality. He has reached maturity and is a little less than 14 hands. He has been saddled and ridden several times and enjoys the attention. He is healthy, spunky and sweet and would make a great event pony. Zag is offered for sale for $4,000 to a good home.
