Poisoned by Mutaz the Abbaside Caliph Buried - at Samarra, Baghdad. Imam Ali an-Naqi (A.S.) was born on the 15th Dhul Hijjah 212(AH) in the suburb of Medina, which was called “ Sarya”. His father was Imam Muhammad at-Taqi (A.S.) who was the ninth Imam and his mother “Samaneh” was one of the most virtuous ladies. Imam a.s was the longest serving Imam, besides the 12th Imam, as he was Imam for 34 years. This period can be divided into two parts: 17 years of freedom and 17 years under arrest.
