(Zaman Alwasl)- Syrian regime forces have made rapid advances in western countryside of Aleppo province, taking control of three villages as an Islamist rebel group retreated over infighting with al-Mujahedeen Army, well-informed source told Zaman Alwasl. Al-Towba brigade was attacked by al-Mujahedeen Army over accusation of links with al-Qaeda-splinter group the Islamic State. Source said that al-Towba brigade threatened to withdraw its fighters form westerns villages what may give Assad’s forces a chance to make more gains. Analysts predicts fall of Aleppo unless all rebel factions find solution for its discords and pay efforts to reunite again in one armed body. In relevant development, Aleppo’s military council has suspended all activities of its command room until further notice over allegation of lack of armament and power monopolizing by the council leader, operation room commander said. Abu Ahmed (Nom de guerre) said his decision to suspend all military activists of command room is due to the amounting disputes amid key rebels in the Aleppo city. Meanwhile, Islamist armed Islamist groups have become the most powerful force in the three-year-old uprising against Bashar al-Assad, who has long portrayed himself as the defender of a secular order in Syria as the death toll exceeded 171,000.
