Zambia to host Africa Rugby Cup By HONE SIAME - ZAMBIA DAILY MAIL ONLINE THE Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) has granted Zambia the right to host the 2015 Africa Cup Group 1C Championship. Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) media and communications manager Brenda Katongola announced in a statement released yesterday that the tournament will be staged in June. “The CAR executive committee is in the process of planning various rugby activities and competitions for 2015 and has requested Zambia to host the 2015 Africa Cup 1C in June,” Katongola said. CAR president Abdelaziz Bougja, in a letter to ZRU president Martin Musunka, said the new format for the 2015 Group 1C competitions will involve four nations, among them Zambia. “The 15s Africa Cup proposed tournament dates are from 21st June to 28th June 2015, and teams would comprise 24 players and three management officials. The match days will be on the 23rd and 27th of June 2015,” Katongola said. In his letter, Bougja said the ZRU will be expected to take care of all aspects – accommodation, local transport, on-field competition costs, media and communication expenses. daily-mail.co.zm/?p=3154
