Zamfara Rep escapes death, loses N30m. (YECO) leaders are to be blame" _________________ A member of the House of Representatives (Gusau/ Tsafe Federal Constituency) of Zamfara state, Ibrahim Shehu Gusau, narrowly escaped being lynched at the weekend by irate youth suspected to be employees of the state government. Ibrahim Shehu Gusau was said to have been invited to attend a meeting with the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in an attempt to reconcile the alleged faction of the party members. He was reportedly attacked at the gate of the Presidential lodge, venue of the purported meeting. The incidence occurred precisely around 10.15 am when the attackers barricaded the road leading to the presidential lodge in search of the legislator. Speaking with newsmen shortly after the attack, Ibrahim Shehu Gusau thanked God for sparing his life. He alleged that the attack was deliberate as the party stakeholders who scheduled the meeting did not show up at the venue. “I received two different letters from the ANPP office Gusau and Tsafe that there will be a meeting on the 31st of August, 2013 at the presidential lodge at 11.00am.” He said that he lost N30 million cash while his Toyota car Camry was vandalized. “I wonder why I should be invited to a deserted building, they left me with the impression that we would hold a meeting with my defunct party elders, leaving me with thugs to kill me,”He lamented. “Reacting to the allegation, Chairman of the defunct ANPP Gusau local government, Shehu J. Muhammad, said that the legislator was duly notified of there-scheduled the venue for the meeting.
