Zardari, Cameron meet; discuss bilateral ties, regional situation ISLAMABAD, Jun 29 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and British prime minister David Cameron met here Saturday and discussed matters relating to bilateral ties and regional situation. The British prime minister is on a two-day visit to Islamabad after touring Afghanistan. In a meeting held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s desire to have a multifaceted and deep engagement with the United Kingdom on various issues based on sovereign equality and mutual trust. Prime Minister Cameron assured that United Kingdom would continue cooperation with Pakistan in curbing militancy, trade access to European Union markets and assistance in the fields of investment and education. Cameron congratulated President Zardari on the successful democratic transition of new government in the country. The two sides also discussed the Afghan-led peace process and the scenario in the backdrop of withdrawal of NATO-led ISAF mission from Afghanistan.
