Zelma Noreen Donahue, age 86, of Charleston, passed away Saturday March 8, 2014 at Meadowbrook Acres, surrounded by her loving family. Zelma was born September 19, 1927 in Dunbar daughter of the late Edward Grisswood Shaffer and Goldie Kincaid Shaffer. Shw was also preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Ronald; and two sisters, Juanita Fisher and Eva Hanna. She was a Christian. Zelma is survived by two sisters, Monzella Raines, husband Virgil, of Tad and Vonna Lawrence of Nitro; brothers, Gary D. Shaffer, wife Macel L., of Charleston, Clarence, wife Jenny, of Charleston, and Harold Shaffer of Wilmont, OH; and several nieces and nephews. At her request there will be no service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in Ortin Heights Cemetery, Nitro, WV. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Meadowbook Acres for the love and care Zelma received while in their care.
