Zesco United coach George Lwandamina believes his side are capable of reaching the Confederation Cup playoff round despite a 2-0 first leg defeat to Medeama. The Zambians were overpowered by goals from Nathaniel Asamoah and Michael Helegbe to give the Ghanaian FA Cup holders the advantage. It was their first competitive defeat under new coach Lwandamina after four games in charge. The trainer insists his side will overturn the deficit in the return leg this Sunday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. “It’s not over at all. We have the second leg to play and we’ll also take our chances,” Lwandamina said. “The early goal unsettled my boys but we came into the picture pretty well. We would have loved to at least go home with a goal but that was never to be. “We are going back to prepare adequately for Medeama in Ndola. We know we have to score three unanswered goals to qualify and I think it’s not a mission impossible.”
