Zhang Zhijun, minister of the Taiwan Affairs Office of China, is set to meet his Taiwanese counterpart at a hotel near Taoyuan Airport today. In anticipation of this, several demonstrators checked into the hotel yesterday (24) evening to protest against Zhangs appearance. However, earlier this morning intelligence officers attempted to break into their rooms after they refused to be interrogated. In addition, large numbers of police and intelligence officers have surrounded the hotel. This comes a day after Lin Fei-fan, Chen Wei-ting, and Huang Guo-chang, as well as many others associated with the Sunflower Movement, had their visa applications to Hong Kong rejected (see Taiwan Voice report: tinyurl/n2xv4ac).
