Zimbabwe Corruption Purges: Much Ado about Nothing Many - TopicsExpress

Zimbabwe Corruption Purges: Much Ado about Nothing Many Zimbabweans have been fascinated by the current purges that are being carried out by President Robert Mugabe ostensibly to get rid of corrupt officials in his party and the State. It is note worthy however, that they are all much ado about nothing. These purges are not coming from any transparent processes neither are they subject to any independent judicial or administrative review but rather are coming from Mugabe and presumably his wife. This is indisputably a process motivated by personal greed with the ultimate aim being to consolidate and maintain a stranglehold on internal opposition within ZANU PF. We do not need a political movement type of anti corruption but rather one that is grounded on the rule of law. Therefore, the Anti Corruption Trust of Southern Africa should lobby and advocate for the transformation of these political charges into judicial charges as opposed to celebrating dubious measures.
