Zoe has been given such a high workload at her workplace that Alice has been drafted in to help her out today, as an extra pair of hands! Its a very common story though. They continue to find ways to pile on more and more work for less and less pay. They have reduced the staff numbers down to the bear minimum, with some of the important technical jobs completely axed. Any staff illnesses that occur result in panic-stations. They are offering a 1% pay rise, which I think is the first offer they have made for some years. It is quite insulting. The teaching and technical staffs are due to go on a 1 day strike soon over pay and conditions, I dont really blame them. There have been several previous strike days, but this will be the first that Zoe will actually participate in. Prior to this, she has just carried on working because she did not want to let her students down!! Sorry for the long rant!
