Zoeys first day of therapy went good. Oregon State Small Animal Clinic has top of the line equipment as they are also a teaching hospital. Everything there is very impressive and her therapist is a doll, and loved her....of course ;-) She did the donut balance ball, she shook the whole thing, her back legs are so weak, she could only do it for a tiny bit then her back legs would crumble, but i can see where this will really help strengthen them. She then did some step over drills for coordination, then to the underwater treadmill. She didnt mind the water at all, as youve seen in her youtube videos in her kiddie pool ;-) . She first got used to the warm water coming up on her legs before they started the treadmill, then when it started she went zooooooooooooooom ...lol...the therapist got her to walk it, she did really good..a few zoooooms in between & her back legs wanted to go out very wide, but therapist said its from her condition & being so weak. ,I had a hard time getting side shots because she wanted to turn to me every time, so mostly had to stay in front. Then they raised the water level for her to swim....Shes a great doggy paddler ;-) Her legs were super tired after, back ones especially..This is going to be soooo good for her, if I can continue this, she will hopefully build up enough back end muscle to help her know where her lil legs are & slow down the progression of wheels/diapers/etc and just make her feel so much better.... She slept all night from time we got home ;-) was a lil grumpy too....lol Long drive, but it was so worth it. I have videos Ill post later.
