Zombie Hawgz 76mm Review. So since these wheels are stone ground, out of the pack they slide no problem. The different duros represent each durometer perfectly. 78a are sticky and gummy and have a very soft butter slide and regular speeds. at faster speeds they are very buttery. 80a are very buttery wheels with just a tad bit of resistance on the kick out. No matter the speed they feel like butter and are easier to kick out than 78a. The 82a wheels are the only ones ive been able to recently core myself so i can give a better indepth analysis of these. From the start they will slide out with no problem. once you break through the stone ground finish they have a chalky slide to them that requires you to kick them out rather than with the stone finish where a hard carve will make it lose traction whether you like it or not. As this wheel wears down the lips become more square so it gains more resistance and get a bit more grippy. So if you take them at speed, they become even more controllable. (i personally lathed the lips back into round when i got to the point where my zombie hawgz were nearly 90 degrees square lipped). As you get to the core the wheels are pure butter and slide for days. The only way to make the wheels stop sliding is your form and how you decide to end the slide because the wheels once they are near the core will barely slow you down. the 84a duro of zombie hawgz is very icey. If you like icey and easy to kick out wheels, these wheels are for you. They slide for days, ice easily, and have very little kickout and hook up. And finally the 86a are crazy icey. you like putting around on icey wheels? you may want to look into this duro. almost no kick out and hook up and they just keep sliding. Due to the large core, zombie hawgz have a crazy amount of roll speed only rivaled by THESE, rads, and cannibals. All the wheels follow a similar wear trend in how they act and feel. duros 82a and lower can be ovaled and flatspotted is the same manner that you can flatspot abec 11 classic thane. the higher duros are quite a bit harder to flatspot. The durometers on this line of wheels, to me, is the perfect representative of how each durometer of a wheel should normally feel like (neglecting polyurethane chemical composition formulas). Zombie hawgz in 82a and over dont thane much in the beginning unless you are hauling down hill and hold out a big hill, but as you wear them down, they start thaning a ton more till where you get close to the core that they dump thane like the best of them. the lower durometers thane quite a bit (relative to your weight). The wheels also dont wear that fast. I would recommend zombie hawgz to both beginners and advanced riders. They are an amazing line of slide wheels of are worth the money. One of the top freeride wheels on the market.
