Zora Neale Hurston, a black folklorist- anthropologist- novelist - TopicsExpress

Zora Neale Hurston, a black folklorist- anthropologist- novelist (and a conservative Republican) expressed in 1955 other reservations about Brown reservations that were very unfashionable (and uncommon) at the time, but that an articulate minority of black people was to echo in the years to come. What she disliked about the ruling was its insinuation that all- black institutions were second- rate. To argue, as Brown did, that racial segregation accentuated feelings of inferiority among blacks was to stigmatize their culture and to insult black teachers and administrators. I have learn new reasons everyday to love Zora. I am struggling with my paper and just when I need her she shows up and I can say she was right then because I can see it now!
