Zordi Lobi Candidat, demain Lobi Ministre? Everyday we read from the press, lobbies from various aspiring candidates. Jeeha, Bunwaree, Mohamed, Radegonde, Faugoo, Baloomoody, and the latest being Kissoondoyal amongst others who are part of the list of uncertainties! They all have in one way or the other expressed through their agents, their strong wish/threat to be candidates. Some of them will get the ticket and the rest will be out. Whatever the PlanB will be for those who will be left on the bench is not really an issue. What is more important is the thereafter for those who have a ticket. In the event the Ptr/MMM coalition wins the election, the interest will be that every elected candidate will want to become a Minister! At the moment, the worse case scenario, should someone in the list be deprived a ticket, is he/she might be working against you. Full stop. But in the event of the scenario mentioned above, should someone be deprived a Ministry, he/she might cross the floor and put the newly formed Government at risk! Thus ensuring perpetual Government instability. There are two solutions to this problem: 1. A law preventing crossing of floors. 2. Limitation of mandates. Now, who will dare to include those in their programme?
