¯\_(ツ)_/¯ TOPIC OF THE WEEK ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We are back for another installment and ill be honest, its sorely overdue and we will be expanding on a similar topic we raised back in March Okay, the NRL is done and dusted. The AFL is, well, who cares and then comes the opening of the A-League. The Tripod of Australian Football Codes is now waging a war on all accounts; expansion, exposure and experience to name a few. The crowd attendance of the 10th season of the A-League opener got me rounding up numbers once more. NRL 2014 Season Opener Souths vs. Roosters 27,882 @ ANZ. NRL 2013 Season Opener Roosters vs. Souths 35,952 @ Allianz. ---------------------------------------------- A- League 14/15 Season Opener Victory vs. WSW 30,083 @ Etihad. A-League 13/14 Season Opener Syd FC vs. Jets 20,103 @ Allianz. ---------------------------------------------- AFL 2014 Season Opener Collingwood vs. Freo 37,571 @ Etihad. AFL 2013 Season Opener Adelaide vs. Essendon 42,218 @ AAMI. There is a mass contradiction in stats between the Media, the NRL and Dave Smith when it comes to crowd attendances. One states theyre down, one states theyre up and the other is restrained by the $1b TV Deal that went down some years back. What are your thoughts? Should NRL continue its pursuit of the AFL or focus on A-League catching up? Is A-League now the powerhouse it so long hoped for? What can the NRL take from the AFL to make the game better?
