ã̰l̰̃l̰̃ ḭ̃s̰̃ l̰̃õ̰s̰̃t̰̃ After a collision with a shipping container at sea, a resourceful sailor finds himself, despite all efforts to the contrary, staring his mortality in the face. Im going against the trend here - the majority of critics think this is a brilliant movie. Yes, Robert Redford is brilliant. Yes, its a very risky experimental movie. Yes, the themes of confronting mortality are significant. I get all of that. But its so boring! Its just tedious to watch and we know almost nothing about the reason for the journey, nothing about the character played by Redford. We know so little about the character its hard to really care what happens to him in the end. So despite its excellent elements its just not interesting enough to bother. overall=**1/2 ; acting=**** ; story=**1/2 ; action=***1/2 ; cinematography=**** ; directing=****
