a couple of years ago, to my bewilderment, God called me to college ministry. at the time, i thought He was calling me to something very small: disciple some exchange students and keep them outa trouble. over time, of course my heart changed as He began to reveal the bigness of His plans for these young people and these college campuses. but something new awakened in me tonight as i shared a preposterously large bucket of ice cream at baskin robbins with six 19year old malaysian students from every corner of their nation. as they shared their experiences, their pasts, their views, their laughter, their passions, their hopes and dreams for themselves and for their nation, i was awestruck by the seeds of greatness in each of these young people. in each of their faces (being stuffed with ice cream), i saw hope for an entire nation. in each of their hearts, i saw a fire burning to see change and broken things made whole and right again. and i was overwhelmed and humbled. because God didnt call me to disciple some mere college kids. i realized tonight that He called me to disciple a chosen people. a people who will change their nations. He has called me to build up leaders who will lead their people into greater truth and freedom. thank you, John Nivie Kah Shang Ruth Yee Johnny McCartney Chris Raj and elvin and chua, for being a source of inspiration in my life. God has crazy crazy BIG things in store for each of you. i believe in you with all my heart.^^
