a day working for the pets country manor; (this is why we cant employ any staff -wed be sued for overworking them, giving them no breaks and no days off! lol) • Our 365 daily routine –even on Sundays when we’re closed to customers or easter Monday, or Christmas day the only thing that changes is one bullet point (which is that we don’t have people dropping off, collecting pets or viewings) Instead we need to maintain the cattery grounds which sits in 1.6 acres, wash cattery windows after the grass has been cut, put on clean bed covers to all washed beds, go to the cash and carry for more cat food /cat litter /hay and shop products. Heres are 365 daily routine • 5:15am – we wake up and feed/water all our own babies -4 cats, 2 horses, 8 ducks, 7 chickens • 5:45am-9:00am ––we head down to the small animal hotel -chop up vegetables, change all the water bottles, give dry feed, veg, hay to all guests, open doors for pets who have the run attached, we put pets out into outdoor runs with their breakfast for those who don’t have a run attached. • Next is the cattery, all the cats are checked over and given a morning cuddle then each of the chalets are brushed out, litter trays are emptied cleaned and refilled with newspaper and litter, water bowls are emptied and refilled with clean fresh water, biscuits are topped up, and wet food bowls are taken to the kitchen to be washed out, all cats are then fed their pouches/tins, corridor’s are brushed and mopped. • Any pets who require our pick up/drop off service –this is available 7:00-8:30am • 9:00am-5:30pm gates are opened ready for customers arriving, during peak times we have upto 60 people due each day to drop off pets, collect pets, come for a look round, drop off booking forms/deposits, browse the shop and whilst all this is going on all our guests still need looking after. • -rabbit hutches need cleaning out every day, pets who don’t have the run attached go outside for around 3 hours so pets who we put out in the morning need to be put back into clean hutches, the runs need cleaning out, then the next set of pets are put out –this goes on throughout the day and early evening. • -We have pets on medication at certain times who need medicines, pills, creams, eye drops, insulin injections etc • -We keep to the feeding times that are on booking forms so if your pet has lunch/brunch etc then pets are given this. • -Facebook photos and videos are done –we have around 200 pets stay with us during peak times taking photos and videos of 200 pets everyday takes a long time –usually around 6 hours per day! • -Pets arriving need time spent with them to help them settle in • -Booking forms are typed into out pet base system and written into the diary • -Emails, voicemails, facebook messages are read and replied to throughout the day • 5:30pm gates are closed, • Any pets who require out pick up /drop off service this is available 5:30-6:30 • 5:30-6:30pm -veggies are chopped up again for upto 80 small pets, -all guests are fed, water bottles/bowls are replaced again with fresh water, dry feed topped up, lots more hay added. • 6:30-8:00 -Cattery guests are fed, waters replaced with fresh water, dry biscuits topped up, poo taken out of litter trays, chalets brushed, lots of cuddles and given (upto 96 cats). • 4:00-8:00pm –rabbits/guinea pigs are brought in from their runs before it gets dark, bunny doors are locked • Any pets that have gone home throughout the day –their hutches/runs are cleaned out, cat chalets are cleaned out –beds/blankets are brushed to get off any loose hairs then they go in the wash, scratching tree’s are brushed to get loose hairs off, sprayed, cleaned then sprayed again, litter trays and bowls are emptied and collected up ready for the wash, all walls in playroom/bedroom are sprayed and washed, floors are brushed and mopped –each chalet takes around 30-45 mins to clean, then fresh clean beds and blankets are put into each chalet, clean placemat, bowls, litter tray ready for guests coming the next day. • After chalets and hutches are ready for guests coming the next day we try to have some dinner –we usually don’t have time for breakfast or lunch but do try to grab a pot noodle sometime in the day to keep us going. • Whilst eating dinner were also printing out new booking forms, invoices for the next day, writing labels for guests coming the next day so we know how long each guest is with us for and what they eat, printing out and writing postcards/envelopes. • Around 10:30-11:00pm when all our work is finished for the day we go back into the cattery and animal hotel to do bed time checks on all our guests and give bed time cuddles. • Its finally time for our bedtime
