a good read. i was having a conversation with someone earlier today generally circumventing this subject, and was shocked to hear the response that raising the minimum wage is improbable because does that mean that the corporations should, for example, raise their prices for hamburgers? my response was that the point was not to offset the costs by reinforcing the problem (inflation rendering the pay raise null), but by closing the gap of wealth disparity by balancing out the distribution of income levels. the response? that would render the concept of capitalism to socialism because isnt the purpose of the system to make as much money as you can? .... - just goes to show the difference of mentalities between line staff and those in higher levels of management.
