a letter from my uncle about my cousin, one of the three princesses :) :) proud of you lisa :) : Lisa has been in the Air Force reserve for over 20 years splitting her time between Milwaukee and her current unit in Minneapolis. Near by is a VA nursing home with over 160 residing veterans. Her unit has had an adopt a vet program for Christmas for years but last year Lisa felt more could be done so she sent emails to everyone in her unit urging them to get involved. It was huge success. She even got BMO bank( bought out M&I ) involved where she is an assistant vice president. This year was even bigger because not only did she now have volunteers from work helping with collecting money, but got 6 classes from 3 Milwaukee area schools to make Christmas ornaments, Christmas cards and write letters to those who served our country, but now needed to be taken care of. She said some of the letters from the children brought tears to her eyes. Between now and mid- January she will ( in uniform) personally thank each of the 6 classes. BMO is headquartered in Chicago and when a visiting VP got wind of this years gifts asked if next year headquarters could participate. Wow!!! Every month Lisa gets a hop along with a bunch of other Airmen from Milwaukee to Minneapolis in a C130 for their military weekend. It is a pretty full flight and when she told her commanding officer there may not be enough room this year for all the gifts. His answer was if there is not enough room I will send another C130!!!! On Christmas Eve the gifts, cards and letters will be handed out. The $2,100 dollars collected through her efforts will give all 160 veterans a goody bag and the 30 adopted vets will each get a blanket plus there are CDs ,DVDs and DVD players and more. I dont know where Lisa gets the heart for this project but knowing her, the commanding officer had better start warming up the second C130 for next years haul. Proud Papa Bernie
