a note on perspective: this morning my alarm went off at 5:46am so that I could prepare to take my 2 boys to school (Im not a biological parent but it sure feels like it sometimes). its freezing when I roll out of bed because we dont run our heat and no space heaters while sleeping. I sleepily make coffee and throw on just about every article of clothing I own, as my car is also sans heat. johnny spoke with a fellow student and ended up getting a ride to school. okay, no problem, I wish I was still asleep but Ill cuddle with mr. copperpot a bit longer. after awhile I go warm up the car (just the engine, mind you. I have no fan to blow that amazing warm air into my face), drive over to pick up Phillip, pull into the driveway and receive a text that hes taking a much-needed mental health day. I was angry, I admit. mostly because I was cold and all I could think about was warm bed and wiener snuggles. I came back to that and all was right with the world. I said all that to say this. I could have had a real shitty morning, had I let myself. I couldve pouted and been all pitiful. but i believe that the morning perspective sets the tone for the day, and who wants to have a bad day? not me. so I chose to make it good by reading, learning, and snuggling a doxie. so dont fall into the sad morning trap, friends! make it a good day.
