a word for today: "....if ye continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples imdeed: and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free," John 8:31,32 The key word here is continue preceeded by the extremely huge word of if. If ye continue... "Oh, but i got saved in 1959..." yeah, and you backslid in 1960. Jesus says "if ye continue in his Word." he says much the same thing in a little different way in John 15:7 "...if ye abide in me..." Coming to Christ and then turning around and going back into the world is neither abiding nor continuing. Focus on Christ. Make him your chief priority. Place him first and foremost in your life! Get in him, stay in him and dont depart from him. Abide and continue in him forever! After all, Jesus really meant it when he said: "he that endureth to the END shall be saved!" not he that starts out with him, but he that endures to the end. Listen to what he told his followers in Luke 13:24: "Strive to enter in at the straight gate: for many, i say unti you, will seek to enter in, and shall nit be able." Abide, continue, endure, strive, occupy. Jesus redeems you from past sins but there us a very real devil that does not want you to remain redeemed. Beware and guard your salvation with all of your heart!
