#adminAKOPINOY MANILA GOES SOLAR! Former President Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada leads the ceremonial lighting of 10 solar-powered streetlights in Rajah Sulayman Park, Manila. The capital city has entered into a deal with South Korean firm Global Gold Goal, Inc., which has agreed to install 10,000 such streetlights - valued at P2.2.-billion - over the next two years at no cost to the local government. Mayor Estrada said this would be of immense help in unburdening the city of its outstanding P600-million electricity debt to Meralco, in addition to reducing energy expenditures and helping the city switch to cleaner energy.
