after writing and recording a song a day for the past few years im running a little dry on ideas but then.....i find a box full of recodings from the cassette era (pre computer recording) and there are literally thousands of recordings and parts there to mine. i remember quite a few of those recordings were very original, had a great sound and were well played plus there are endless band jams and covers on there, electro acoustic recordings , recordings using a direct input multi effects for pro quality sound and ambient/room micd recordings, close micd amps.....all the stuff where i learned how to do it well so i now have a few thousand recordings to sift through for the future which will leave my 3000 or so computer tunes fresh afterwards/after the break from them. all in all 18 years worth of recordings, 5 of which are spanned by the analog tape and multitrack recordings in said box. itll be like a trip back in time remembering things ive long forgotten and of course the joy of discovering the voices of long deceased loved ones on tape.....possibly the best bit of all and my voice on tape.....possibly he worst bit of all....but this is the closest i ever really got to keeping a diary so it will be a trip to listen to. i shall post selected recordings on soundcloud in due course as i continue to get quite a lot of intersest there. thats whats on my mind.
