The ideal candidate is customer focused, detail oriented and well versed in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. The successful candidate will perform highly technical functions in a wide variety of department operations and will maintain frequent contact with the public. Responsibilities require the frequent use of professionalism, tact, and independent judgment; as well as knowledge of departmental and City activities including the Pasadena Area Rapid Transit System (ARTS) and the Pasadena Dial-A-Ride systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following list represents some of the essential functions of the position. Assignments may vary. For more detailed information, please refer to the job description. Provides daily customer service assistance on ARTS and Dial-A-Ride services, including answering phones, helping customers at the front counter, and handling questions, comments and requests for information related to the transportation programs. Supports the Dial-A-Ride program, including application review and processing, distribution of membership cards, and database management. Establishes and maintains a variety of recordkeeping systems; logs, calculates and monitors data for fixed route farebox; assists in managing ARTS ticket book sales; and assists with coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining accurate accounting of the Senior/Disabled TAP and EZ Pass program. Assists with activities and procedures related to reporting, contract administration and compliance, records maintenance, and procurement. Assists with compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data and prepares regular and ad hoc reports. Reviews and reconciles monthly reports from transit services contractor for accuracy. Assists with research, development, review and preparation of various complex transportation reports such as the National Transportation Database (NTD) annual report. Assists with coordinating administrative and reporting requirements as it pertains to vehicle acquisition/purchasing, DMV titling, assignment, installation of fuel reading devices, and inventory. Coordinates transit operations and related programs and functions. Assists in administering and monitoring interagency contracts and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro); assists in the administration of contracts with the County of Los Angeles, City of San Marino, Access Services, and other agencies to ensure regulatory and contract compliance. Provides administrative support to professional staff as assigned; prepares correspondence and other written materials; designs and prepares departmental forms. Represents the department in interdepartmental and community meetings as required. Assists with analysis of transit operations including compiling ridership, schedule changes, and on-time performance. Conducts field audits. Represents the Transit Division at community outreach events (e.g., Rideshare events, Pasadena City College Orientation Day, Earth and Arts Festival, etc.) providing information to the public on transportation services in the City of Pasadena; participates in providing direct marketing and outreach to various community groups, facilities and agencies.
