ah, the kind of fresh summer day that begins with waking up to a voice mail, a text message and an email from your bank, letting you know theres been a data compromise at a merchant where your card was used -- so your cards (two) were cancelled and you must go to the bank (with your passport -- which you now must find) to get new ones, but only temporary ones good for a week -- and they will mail the others and youll have those next week -- but youll be out of town for 12 days starting thursday -- and ALL your automated payments sent to the card will get rejected and a big authorization set to go today was rejected and and and and and. first world problems, for sure.........but wowowowowow what a time suck...........AND you have to find your passport..........and all of this, makes you realize, too, that you are no longer the girl who always carried her passport around, just in case a weekend jaunt to buenos aires availed itself at the last minute............(not that it ever did).
