ahh, so now i am in the section of the grammar book i always feel is put together by the pro-newspeak party. awkward phrase----->idiom(standard idiom non-the-less)----->cliche! at what point do these phases of language occur? i feel like the phrase i dont know, but ill know when i see it best sums up the situation. of course, my number one pet peeve is the suggestion that you should reduce, whenever possible, anything that can be boiled down to one word. why stop there. lets just write in text messages or abbreviations.
